A welcoming, one-round pathway for ages 5–16, with no age subdivisions and no Preliminary–Final sequence. Choose online video, Hong Kong in person or Seoul in person, and prepare one performance for each entry.

Solo repertoire by division
- Perform one free-choice solo work from memory. A Chopin work is not required.
- One round, one application and one performance for the selected entry. There are no age subdivisions.
Concerto repertoire & accompaniment
Young Amateur also offers Concerto at US$100 per entry. Contact the team to confirm its specific repertoire requirements before preparing your performance.
Every concerto entry needs accompaniment
- Live piano accompaniment.
- Recorded piano or orchestral accompaniment.
- A recording with a live orchestra.
A solo-piano recording without the orchestral part is not accepted as a concerto entry.
- More than one entry?
- You may enter every division for which you qualify, including Young Amateur alongside Junior or Young Artist. You may also enter both Solo and Concerto. Each division and performance category requires a separate application and fee.
- Online recording requirements
- Record each piece as one continuous, unedited performance. Show the performer’s face, hands and full body clearly.
- Use an acoustic upright or grand piano for online performances. Recordings must be no more than six months old.
- Wear appropriate concert attire. The jury’s decisions are final.
