A professional development and performance program designed exclusively for piano teachers who wish to further develop their artistic and pedagogical skills while performing in Warsaw β€” the city of Chopin.

Participants will take part in the International Piano Teachers Academy and perform in the International Piano Teachers Competition, combining artistic growth, pedagogical enrichment, and international performance opportunities.

Participants of the academy will perform in the competition.

  • Piano Solo

  • Piano Duo

  • Piano Concerto

To ensure sustainable support for prize winners, only one First Prize will be awarded in each category.

Audition Repertoire Requirements

Applicants should submit one free-choice work.

Duration: 3–10 minutes
(A tolerance of approximately Β±1 minute is acceptable.)

Additional Guidelines

  • If performing a piano sonata, only one movement should be presented.

  • If performing a piano concerto, only one movement should be presented.

  • Memorization is required for all categories except Piano Duo.

Program Structure

International Piano Teachers Academy

Selected participants will be invited to attend the academy in Warsaw.

During the academy, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Participate in private lessons

  • Attend pedagogy sessions

  • Take part in performance activities

  • Be considered for participation in a public masterclass


Audition Categories

Applicants may apply in one of the following categories:

  • Piano Solo

  • Piano Duo

  • Piano Concerto

Participants who submit a piano solo work for the audition may also participate in the Piano Concerto category during the competition.


Performance Opportunities

First Prize winners (one in each category) will be invited to perform in:

  • Solo Recital

  • Piano Duo Performance

  • Piano Concerto Performance

Certification

Participants who complete the academy will receive the
Chopin Avenue International Piano Teachers Academy Certificate.

What level of repertoire is expected?

Applicants should submit one free-choice work that represents their current artistic level.
The audition requirements are designed to allow teachers to demonstrate musicality, interpretation, and professional experience.

Do I need to memorize the repertoire?

Memorization is required for all categories except Piano Duo.

Can I apply if I am an independent private teacher?

Yes.
Participants may include teachers from private studios, music schools, conservatories, and universities.
